2012
Kansas NBHA 3-Show Rule
The National Office has given the State Director the authority to liberalize this requirement. It has been voted and approved by the District Directors of Kansas to continue with this requirement as follows:
(1) All current members will be required to compete at three (3) shows within their competition district from January 1 to December 31 of the year prior to the State Championship show.
(2) New members from January 1 until the State Championship Entry Deadline will not have a 3-show rule applied to them for that year’s state championship. However, they will need to compete at 3 shows by December 31 of the same year to compete at the next year’s state championships. This rule will only be waived once for each new member.
(3) Lapsed members who renew after January 1 will not be given an exemption UNLESS their lapse was prior to January 1 of the preceding year.
E.g., if they renew on March 1, 2012, they would be given an exemption if they were not a member from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011.
However if they let their membership lapse on July 1, 2011 and renew in February, 2012, they would not be given an exemption for the 2012 State Championship Show.
(4) If a “current member” has not competed at three (3) shows within their competition district from January 1 to December 31 of the year preceding the State Championship show but they wish to enter the State Championship competition, those members will be given the option to enter the State Championships upon payment of a fee of $75.00 per show qualification which they did not meet. (e.g., if a member was able to get 2 shows in during the qualification year, they can pay $75.00 to their home district and be qualified for state.) This fee will be called a buy-in fee and shall be paid to the member's home district which the Director may use as and for district awards.
4a. This fee rule is only available to members of Districts 01 through 11. You MUST be a current member within your home district to be eligible to pay the $75.00 per show requirement.
4b. Members of the 00 District are not provided this buy-in option. They may, however, transfer to their home district to take advantage of this benefit.
