The final’s times of the 4 Open 4D Champions who qualified with 2 clean runs in the 1st & 2nd go, will have their finals time compared to their FASTEST 1st Go/2nd Go times for a target time comparison. (Must have made all 3 clean runs on the same horse as they won the championship on.)
The Open Division Champions whose times come closest to matching (whether faster or slower) will win the BONUS CHECK. If any of the 4 Open Champions did not have two clean runs in the go-rounds, they will be excluded from the target-time comparison. If only one champion has three clean runs, that person will automatically win the BONUS CHECK.

Kansas NBHA 3-Show Rule

The National Office has given the State Director the authority to liberalize this requirement.  It has been voted and approved by the District Directors of Kansas to continue with this requirement as follows:

      (1)  All current members will be required to compete at three (3) shows within their competition district from January 1 to December 31 of the year prior to the State Championship show.

      (2)  New members from January 1 until the State Championship Entry Deadline will not have a 3-show rule applied to them for that year’s state championship.  However, they will need to compete at 3 shows by December 31 of the same year to compete at the next year’s state championships.  This rule will only be waived once for each new member.

      (3)  Lapsed members who renew after January 1 will not  be given an exemption UNLESS  their lapse was prior to January 1 of the preceding year.

E.g., if they renew on March 1, 2010, they would be given an exemption if they were not a member from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009.

However if they let their membership lapse on July 1, 2009 and renew in February, 2010, they would not be given an exemption for the 2010 State Championship Show.

      (4)  If a “current member” has not competed at three (3) shows within their competition district from January 1 to December 31 of the year preceding the State Championship show but they wish to enter the State Championship competition, those members will be given the option to enter the State Championships upon payment of a fee of $250.00 per entry (in addition to the entry fee itself) and the 3-show rule will be waived.  This fee will be paid to the district level and may be used towards their award’s fee.

Please Note:  This rule will also apply to lapsed members who are not exempt pursuant to Rule No. (3)
